HAIR tissue mineral analysis

What is HTMA?

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is a comprehensive test that measures the levels of over 30 essential minerals and trace elements in the hair. Unlike blood tests, which can show temporary nutrient levels, HTMA provides a long-term view of mineral balance by analyzing the minerals stored in your hair. This test offers insights into your body’s nutritional status and its ability to detoxify, metabolize, and maintain overall health.

Becoming certified in HTMA has truly enhanced my practice as a nutritional therapy practitioner. It has given me a deeper understanding of how mineral imbalances affect the body, allowing me to go beyond just addressing symptoms. Now, I can provide a more comprehensive and personalized approach, helping clients restore balance at the cellular level. HTMA has made my recommendations more precise, which has led to better outcomes and a more effective way to support my clients' health journeys.

HTMA test + Analysis includes a full report on your imbalances and how to improve them. A 30-minute consultation before and after results are included for me to be able to target specific areas that hindrances may be affecting.

Why you need htma

Understanding Mineral Imbalances:
Mineral imbalances are often silent and can contribute to a variety of health issues, from fatigue and digestive disturbances to anxiety, sleep problems, and hormone imbalances. HTMA helps identify these imbalances early, before symptoms become chronic or severe.

Insight into Detoxification:
Your body’s ability to detoxify is influenced by your mineral levels. HTMA reveals how well your body is handling toxins and whether detox pathways need support. A proper mineral balance helps the liver, kidneys, and other organs function optimally in eliminating toxins.

HTMA vs. Blood Work:
Unlike blood work, which reflects only short-term nutrient levels, HTMA shows how your body stores minerals over time, providing a more accurate long-term picture of your nutritional status. This makes HTMA a better tool for identifying deeper imbalances and helping you achieve lasting health improvements.

Personalized Nutritional Recommendations:
HTMA gives you specific data on what your body needs (or doesn’t need). By analyzing critical ratios such as:

  • Calcium/Magnesium

  • Sodium/Potassium

  • Iron/Zinc
These ratios reveal mineral imbalances that could be influencing your health. For example:

  • An iron/zinc imbalance can impact immune function, energy levels, and digestion.

  • The calcium/magnesium ratio is important for muscle function, bone health, and stress management.

  • Sodium/potassium imbalances can affect fluid balance, kidney health, and blood pressure.

Supporting Your Overall Wellness:
Whether you're looking to boost energy, improve mental clarity, manage stress, or optimize your athletic performance, HTMA offers the insights you need to make informed, intentional decisions about your nutrition and lifestyle.

Better Understanding of Metabolic Function:
Minerals play a crucial role in the body’s metabolism, including energy production, digestion, and absorption. HTMA can show how well your body is metabolizing food and processing nutrients, which is vital for managing chronic fatigue, hormonal imbalances, and digestive issues.

Preventing Long-Term Health Issues:
Even if you don’t feel "sick," mineral imbalances can silently contribute to long-term health problems. HTMA can serve as a preventive tool, helping to catch potential issues before they escalate into something more serious.
